Boston Bruins win the Stanley Cup.

The Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 in game 5 at Boston Garden to win the team’s second National Hockey League championship. Earlier in the playoffs, the Bruins had beaten the Montreal Canadiens in the eighth minute of the third overtime period on a goal by rookie Mel Hill.
